And after all this time, what have I learned in psych 101? Aside from talking dinosaurs and brokeback moments and sneaky professors, there's a reason why I never thought of cutting psych101. Because you learn amazing things everyday. Like we daydream 8hrs a day. Or the Barnum effect. Or that porn isn't all bad. Those things.
Why did I choose those papers?
The biology and free will topic really made me think. Big time. It made me realize that every muscle we move, every thought we process, just comes from patterns of signals, predetermined and unstoppable. And yet, we have free will! We can't control those chemicals and stuff, but we control the outcome. How cool is that!
The soundtrack of my life I just loved. I've been waiting for the chance to make a whole playlist that defnines my life. Three songs isn't what I had in mind, but it's a start. And the development stages lesson was also cool. It's so simple, and yet so true. The problems that every person face at different stages of life just jumps at you and screams "Hey! Hey! You! You! You have a dilemma. No way, no way! I think you need to solve it."
And the experiments paper. Well, I love participating in experiments. Like I said, there's something in studying behavior in a controlled situation that's just cool. And, I just love saying "participant" and "experiment" in the same sentence. Kind of makes you think of people being electrocuted or kept in cages and all haha.
All in all, I enjoyed psych 101. The room, my classmates - those I know and still don't know :), and you, ma'am. More fun than a barrel of monkeys!... if that's even fun XD. Like I said, psych101 was the only class in 2nd sem that I was always excited about, because I never knew what to expect :)
See you around!
